Civita Community is located in Mission Valley (92108) in the city of San Diego. 

There are currently 11 owner communities in Civita with 3 future community sites to be developed. Current communities are: Everly, Avella, Promontory, Marquee, Apex, Frame & Focus, Lucent, Lucent II, Altana, Elevate and Origen

Civita Park is owned by the city of San Diego, but construction was funded privately under a reimbursement agreement between the City and the Grant/Sudberry team. 

All of the 4,780 households planned for Civita, including the existing 2,000+, are within a 5-minute walk of Civita Park. The 2020 total daytime population within one mile is 20,475. 

After nine years of planning, the plan for Quarry Falls (now called Civita) was approved by the San Diego City Council by a vote of 7-1 in 2008. Ground was broken in 2010 and the first homes opened for sale in 2011. 

The Civita project is budgeted at $2 billion and being developed by Sudberry Properties, in partnership with the Grant family, which has operated the former quarry since 1937. 

In 2013, following hundreds of public meetings and 10 years of planning, the San Diego Parks and Recreation Board approved the design of Civita Park. Construction of the park started in 2015 and the first phases of the park opened in April 2017, as part of the community's Arbor Day festivities. 

Formerly known as Quarry Falls, Civita is a joint venture of locally based Sudberry Properties and the Grant Family Trust, which has owned the property since the late 1920s. 

The 14.3-acre Civita Park is the social and recreational center of Civita, a 230-acre, sustainable urban infill village in San Diego's Mission Valley, which is being developed on the site of a former sand and gravel quarry.
